Part 6 in a 11-part blog series looking at questionable expenses of several government employees, as revealed by CTF Freedom of Information requests.
Claire Smith is PavCo’s VP, Sales and Marketing, and in 2011/12, Claire made $187,340, which squeaked her into PavCo’s top 5 salaries. But it was Claire’s expenses that caught our eye - $53,712 that year. Some highlights:
She shelled out $1,227.42 for dinner for 9 at Scottsdale’s Bourbon Steakhouse (p. 1). In December, it was $630 for dinner 5 at Bishop’s (p. 36).
In March, she spent $1,057.92 to fly to Washington, D.C. In May, it was a $4,851.71 trip to Frankfurt (p. 15); in September, it was $5,012.31 to fly to Leipzig, Germany (p. 23). In February, she went to Barcelona, costing taxpayers $5,337.11 just in airfare (p. 39).
